SOME PROBLEMS OF LANGUAGE INTERFERENCE AND THE FORMATION OF PHONEMIC HEARING IN TEACHING THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AT UNIVERSITIES IN ARMENIA

This article discusses the problems associated with the process of linguistic mutual influence of the Russian and Armenian languages in teaching Russian pronunciation to the Armenian students, leading to the emergence of sound interference, some issues related to the problem of teaching Russian as a foreign language – the formation and development of auditory pronunciation skills and, in particular, the problems of the development of phonemic hearing of adult Armenian students, the influence of the native language on phonemic processes in the course of teaching the Russian language, the psychophysiological mechanisms of the formation of phonemic and speech hearing and its components are described. The article carries out a comparative analysis of some relevant and difficult phonetic-phonological phenomena of the Armenian and Russian languages. Based on the research, the author proposes some techniques for teaching Russian pronunciation to improve the quality of the educational process, aimed at students’ conscious assimilation of language material and the elimination of sound interference.
