Thearticleexamines the paradigmshiftinlexicographicpracticefrom the traditionaldescriptiveapproachto the anthropocentric one.Specialattention is paid to the role of a nativespeaker's personality,pragmatics,culturalandcognitivecontextin the process of creating a dictionary. The necessity of lexicographyorientation to theneeds of a modernuser is substantiated,andthebasicprinciples of anthropocentriclexicography are revealed.
