EVOLUTION OF THE IDEA OF BROTHERHOOD IN L. N. TOLSTOY: FROM BLOOD BROTHERHOOD TO UNIVERSAL
Keywords:
L. N. Tolstoy, concept, universal brotherhood, true brotherhood, spiritual brotherhood, blood brotherhood, unityAbstract
The article examines the theme of brotherhood, repeated in the fiction of L. N. Tolstoy – from the trilogy "Childhood. Adolescence. Youth" to the late works of the writer. In Tolstoy, this theme is multifaceted, general, universal, directly related to the legend of the "green stick", of the "ant brotherhood", directly ascending to this legend, just as this legend can be fundamentally connected simultaneously with the idea of blood brotherhood (Muravyov brothers, Tolstoy brothers) and spiritual, ideological brotherhood.
