A STUDY OF THE READER'S INTEREST IN THE YAROSLAVL PROVINCE AT THE END OF THE 19th CENTURY

The article examines the history of the first study of the reader's interest in the Yaroslavl province. The study was conducted by the Yaroslavl Statistical Committee on the eve of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin. The study was conducted among the rural population: children, adolescents, and adults. The work took place in several stages: the development of a questionnaire, sending and receiving responses, analysis, and presentation of the results to representatives of the Yaroslavl intelligentsia.
