This article provides a general overview of the phenomenon of synonymy and an analysis of its characteristics, which assist teachers in teaching students in non-linguistic faculties, helping them develop literate speech. A comparison of synonymous sets of Russian and Armenian phraseological units revealed linguistic differences between the reserved Russian and expressive Armenian phraseological systems, demonstrating two distinct and unique ways in which humans adapt to the world of emotions.
