TRANSLATIONAL TRANSFORMATIONS IN TRANSLATING TEXTS ABOUT NATURAL SCIENCES
Keywords:
history and peculiarities of translation, transformation, permutation, replacement, omission, additionAbstract
It is difficult to imagine the process of translation of natural science related texts from the source language into the target language without necessary grammatical changes, or in other words, without transformations. As we know, the structures of languages are quite different, and that is why it is necessary to make some changes in the process of translation. The grammatical transformations can be divided into the following groups: substitution, transposition, omission or ellipsis and supplementation. Of course, these changes occur separately but there are cases when one or two may happen in one sentence. The ultimate goal of such changes is to be more precise and to represent the matter in a better way.
