INTERACTIVE METHODS OF TEACHING RUSSIAN LANGUAGE SYNTAX TO TRANSLATOR STUDENTS OF A HUMANITARIAN UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The article discusses interactive methods of teaching Russian language syntax to student translators of a humanitarian university. It is determined that the preparation of students for translation activities should be carried out in parallel with teaching Russian. At the same time, it is worth focusing not only on grammar, but also on syntax, text theory, stylistics and editing of translation. To achieve this goal, more than 100 texts of different styles and genres presented in Armenian, English and their translations by 2nd-3rd year students of the Yerevan State University named after V. Bryusov were analyzed. Then the course was structured and directions were designated. The main problems of proficiency in the language of translation were identified. Interactive exercises for overcoming each problem are presented. It is noted that the use of different types of exercises, focused not on individual independent, but on group discussion and analysis of the quality of translation, search for the best options, auditory perception of the text, creative tasks, drawing up mind maps allow developing not only language skills themselves, but also visual and auditory memory, guesswork, forecasting, observation, attention and logical thinking, a sense of language. The main types of exercises are highlighted – communicative, linguistic, analytical, practical, discussion. It is noted that the most effective should be recognized as the method of discussion, group activities, presentations, drawing up mind maps, cases.
