The article is dedicated to the artistic heritage of the writer, poet, essay writer and translator Eduard Avakyan and the peculiarities of his translations. The point is that via translations many historical events and national heroes become part of not only the Armenian culture but also that of the Russian-speaking reader. It is with the help of the Russian translations of literature that the best of the Armenian prose start to enjoy more popularity.
